Introduction - The Occasion

A National Day of Prayer was established in 1952 and enacted in 1988 by congressional legislation, on the first Thursday of every May the nation would be called to prayer.

We gather as a multi-national assembly releasing worshipful prayer for our nation and world. We welcome pastors, ministry leaders, believers, those of like minds from around the tri-state region, as well as representatives from other states and nations. This is the CRNDP 31st year; with a Unified show of support from the multifaceted body of Christ.

We gather in honor of the National Day of Prayer.

The Situation in America

We face unprecedented challenges; economic turmoil, the threat of terrorism, racial discrimination, the misuse of the environment, and the backlash of deep untold suffering. The Promise "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble" (Psalm 91:15)

Pre-Gathering

The Pastors/Ministry Leaders Pre-Gathering was held in the Rayburn building Gold Room starting at 2:00pm.

Dr. David Anderson, WAVA Radio host, lead a diverse panel opening up dialogue leading to positive effective communications and increased understanding. The end results were healing, greater unity and reconciliation in the Body of Christ.

Who is this, please?

We have come to this place of repentance taking responsibility for the legacy of wounds inflicted under the umbrella of our faith. It is painful to acknowledge that our forefathers and peers, grievously sinned against others causing profound pain in their lives.

Beginning today, a humble pursuit and entering a new day of dawning to sustain the journey that laments over past atrocities which translates into entering a new day. We gather as an expression of pledging to live out our faith in Spirit and in truth. We strip off the garments of self-exaltation, arrogance, privilege and the like. In our nakedness, brokenness, we weep, confess and lament over the church's history of injustice. We acknowledge the motivation of our sins based on greed, resulting in oppression of others.

We gather in hope that through confession, loving our fellowman as we love ourselves, and forgiving, we meet God's condition to be forgiven. Then we can move forward becoming the believer we are called to be.

Dr. Anderson: We leave with a renewed commitment, a fresh motivation and incitement toward a reconciled family of God; "you (Lord) purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation." (Rev 5:9 NIV)
