2016 CRNDP Introduction, Segment 01

Introduction

This is an annual set aside time of worshipful prayer unity. We gather with the promise our heavenly Father will release His presence; in a greater dimension than any of us could experience isolated in our varied groupings. God has commanded a blessing in Rev 5:9 togetherness coming out of every tribe, tongue and nation. CRNDP provides a relational platform which serves to bring together multi-cultural, multi-denominational and cross-generational believers in the bond of peace; caring for and relating to each other.

Reflections from Howard Levin

I think it was an all around anointed day in DC, particularly for our younger generation. I loved seeing them at CRNDP. The program from stage was powerful and Christ centered! You did a magnificent job gathering a wonderfully diverse set of leaders - across denominations, generations and backgrounds. My heart leaps when I see this.

God is moving in our midst in uncommon ways. The years of faithfulness of Dr. Boone and many others seem to be coming into view. It's not lost on me that this is a result of prayer and Holy Spirit empowered 2 Chron. 7:14 humility and courage.

It is an honor and privilege to be serving Christ together!

Recognizing the seasonal shift (Ecc 3:1) then Father God wants to move us into a greater experience of His love in our relationships. CRNDP is honored to declare God presence in the earth by a lifestyle modelling the gospel of the kingdom.

This website report is our gift to you for purposeful prayer. May you use it often.

Dr. Corinthia Ridgley Boone, Chair
on behalf of the CRNDP Steering Committee

The Occasion

A National Day of Prayer was established in 1952. Enacted in 1988 by congressional legislation, on the first Thursday of every May the nation would be called to prayer.

In recognition of the National Day of Prayer, we gather as a multi-national assembly, releasing worshipful prayer for our nation and world.

The Situation in America

We face unprecedented challenges; economic turmoil, the threat of terrorism, racial discrimination, the misuse of the environment, and the backlash of deep untold suffering. The Promise is that "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble" (Psalm 91:15)

2016 CRNDP Pre-Gathering Panel Dialogue, Segment 02

Pre-Gathering Panel Dialogue

Led by: Rev. Michael C. Worsley, Engagement Officer, World Vision, U.S. Programs
and D. J. Jonathan Wade

NDP Photo 056
NDP Photo 056
Michael C. Worsley

At the Pre-Gathering, young adults shared with senior leaders how to best relate to and partner with the millenial generation.

Senior leaders discovered, through mostly listening, how the Church can best come alongside the upcoming generations.

The voice of young people was empowered. Their lives were impacted and changed forever. They will never forget how they were embraced, trusted, listened to and mobilized to make a radical difference for the cause of spiritual awakening in America!

NDP Photo 033
NDP Photo 033
Jonathan Wade

The inter-generational panel discussion was a great experience. The biggest outcome seemed to be transparency. Both sides were willing to be vulnerable to each other, in order to have a productive conversation. The young people were able to express their truth and perspectives. It gave the senior leaders a new path to ministry.

Social media, cellphones, and TV cannot offer what senior leaders can; an open heart, open mind, and open ear.

It was a great experience and should be a model used everywhere.

Youth and adults experienced an intergenerational dialogue. A foretaste of the World Vision "Youth Empowerment Experience" helped youth to discover their voice and advocate for what they care about. Further, it equiped adults to close the generation communication gap and partner with youth toward achieving their destiny. It was a life-changing experience for all.

Reflection by Rudy DePass

We witnessed eye-opening, heart-felt testimonies from the youth, souls crying out to touch Saints living the godly life-style. Youth crying-out for ears to hear their passion, feel their pain, for us to minister where they are hurting, not where we feel they should be helped.

We came to understand how we need to allow the Holy Spirit to direct us to discern the hearts of our youth; to learn how to reach them, to understand that we need them as much as they need us; that's reverse mentorship.

Intergenerational Panel Dialogue

As a result of this experience, participants agreed that they will never return to ministry as usual.

Senior Leaders, through "reverse-mentoring" discovered how the Church can best come alongside millennials to foster spiritual awakening in their generation. 2016 CRNDP Opening, Segment 03

Opening

Led by Pastor Brent Bozarth

Pastor Brent Bozarth

We came together in obedience to the Word of God "Pray for the city (nation) to which I have carried you. Seek its peace and welfare." (Jeremiah 29:7) Intercessors circled to different stations, praying individually or in small groups, worshipfully, prayerfully honoring God's presence.

Generations prayed together chosing a prayer station identified by T-shirt color. Youth and mature believers prayed together at the station of their choice.

  • RED -- LOVE
"Love God and love one another" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
  • ORANGE -- HOPE
"When the righteous cry for help the Lord hears...hope in God" (Psalm 34:17)
  • YELLOW -- FAITH
"Work of faith, assurance of things hoped for, conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)
  • BLUE -- RECONCILIATION
"To be made "as one" with God. Receive the ministry of reconciliation - (restore understanding). (2 Corinthians 5:18)
  • PURPLE -- SOCIAL/ACTION GOOD DEEDS
"and do not neglect doing good and sharing" (Hebrews 13:16)

Reflection by Michael Worsley

Opening of the CRNDP on the West Lawn, with interactive intercessory prayer stations, was given to the youth to design, implement and oversee. They arose to the challenge with excellence. The youth role was inclusive, innovative, practical and relevant.

Reflections by Brent Bozarth

  • The intercessory Prayer gathering and praying stations was a huge success. The Now Generations were fully engaged and leading heart-felt prayers for our nation.

  • The Voices of Unity were a part of circling prayer stations at the opening with the assembly. It brought a closer connection between praying youth and adults.

  • As the CD was playing , I noticed visitors sitting on the steps of the Capital with their heads down and praying and also tapping their hands and feet to the music. I could tell they were being a part of our service from afar.

  • One young lady from a Foursquare church was leading a prayer station; she said the event totally changed her life and it was one of the most powerful events she has ever had the privilege of attending.

May 5th is the Day of Remembrance for the Holocaust as well as the National Day of Prayer 2016

This is a unique and very special moment for us to join together for a time of unity reconciliation, and healing with our Jewish brothers and sisters alongside those whom the Lord has called and gathered from the nations together as "One New Man in Christ Jesus."

L. Heavenly Father, we Your people who are called by Your name, stand before You today on this National Day of Prayer and on this Day of Remembrance for the Holocaust (Yom Hashoah).

C. LORD, WITH HUMILITY WE HAVE GATHERED HERE TO PRAY AND SEEK YOUR FACE.

L. Forgive us our sins, the sins of the Church, and the sins of this nation against the Jewish people and all whom we have persecuted. And, we forgive those who have sinned against us and persecuted us. Just as You have been gracious to forgive, we also forgive.

C. LORD, WE REND OUR HEARTS, WE TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS, AND WE COMMIT TO WALKING IN YOUR LOVE, TRUTH, JUSTICE, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.

L. We pray comfort, protection, peace and salvation for all who continue to suffer this day; the poor, the widow, the orphan, and all who are martyred for Your great name. When one in the body suffers, we all suffer.

C. ALLELUIA! SALVATION AND GLORY AND POWER BELONG TO THE LORD OUR GOD!

L. Heal our land and our nation. Restore our health and heal our wounds. Tear down the walls of division and bring unity to Your Church as One New Man in Christ. Cause us to stand strong with the Jewish people and with Your holy nation of Israel.

C. BLESSING AND HONOR AND GLORY AND POWER BE TO HIM WHO SITS ON THE THRONE, AND TO THE LAMB, FOREVER AND EVER!

L. Lord, You have redeemed us by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation. For this we praise and worship You Oh Holy Father. We love and adore You. We are Your inheritance, Your children, and special treasure above all people.

C. BLESSING AND GLORY AND WISDOM, THANKSGIVING AND HONOR AND POWER AND MIGHT, BE TO OUR GOD FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.

It was an awesome time of unity and prayer within the body of Christ, both Jew and gentile together as One New Man. It was powerful to remember the Jewish victims of the holocaust and all who are persecuted for His name sake around the earth, and in asking for His forgiveness for ourselves, the church, and this nation for ignoring those who suffer in the body. For when one suffers we all suffer. There was a very sweet and peaceful spirit over the whole event.

Reflections continued . . .

As always, we greatly rejoiced by the dIversity of participation, especially this year, with the comfort level exhibited by the Jewish participants who felt at home among us.

Lord, our heart cry is that in our time together, that You and You alone would be lifted up! Our aim is to lift Jesus higher. We acknowledge that the same presence of the Lord that was in the Ark, is now in us as the Body of Christ. Father, we assemble to proclaim that Jesus is Lord and should be enthroned in every area of our personal lives and nation (Psalm 22:3).

  • We are Your living stones assembled out of many nations, cultures, peoples, and groups.

  • We are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood (1 Peter 2:5) and we may continually pray for presidents and all who are in positions of authority (1 Timothy 1:2).

God fist reconciled us to himself through Christ (Romans 5:10) and He has committed to us the message of reconcillation (2 Cor 5:18) that the body of church (Revelation 5:9) may be restored to friendship and harmony. God, at this critical state of our nation, is calling His body to reconcillation, oneness in Him (John 17:21) partnership, cooperation, connection, relationship (Phillipians 2:2)

  • There is a lack of recognition and acknowledgment that the multiplication of our national sin is because of the pride, arrogance and isolation in much of the church.

  • John 17:21 and Revelation 5:9 requires that the body of Christ be one family.

  • Psalm 133:1 reaffirms God's heart that his people live together, repentant, reconciled and appreciating each other.

  • Revival is on hold until there is a spiritual awakening leading to repentance of the church's of its arrogance, pride and isolation.

The magnificant courage and boldness of Pastor Lon Solomon, McLean Bible Church, buttressed with his testimonies of how he's embracing and living it out reconcilliation, the biblical mandate of John 17:21. It was astonishing! Especially timeley was his exhortation that we can't expect God to start a revival in the region as long as our lifestyle remains isolated and arrogant.

Reflection by Rev. Dr. Andre Randall

Lon Solomon's transparency about his history with Jesus Christ as a Jew was impacting. His witness of confession about being isolated and proud lead all assembled to a place of self reflection. The worship was powerful and the ministry one to another was unprecedented.

The assembly prayer call was followed and based on Lon Solomon's message. Hebrews 3:15 says not harden your hearts. Today if you hear His voice through Lon Solomon to put away pride, arrogance, isolation, move around and find someone of a different ethnicity and pray together; you will be manifesting that today we hear God's voice. We agree a deeper work of reconciling love in each of us has begun. It will flow out from this assembly to all nations answering Jesus' prayer that the body of Christ (Rev 5:9) be one (John 17:21).

Ecclesiastical prayer of agreement (Revelation 5:9) of Korean, Hispanic, African, Chinese, African American, Indian, Caucasian, Islander, Jewish were praying together during the assembly prayer.

Reflections from Gail Taliaferro

God’s people from many nations and tongues petitioned God with heartfelt prayers of repentance and intercession, no pomp and circumstance and no distractions! Hearts were totally focused on Jesus.

Our Jewish brethren were there praying with us with shofars piercing the heavens with a clarion call.

We sang Hava Nagila and dance before the Lord. Closing with Bind us together and heaven responded with a gentle rain. We all left know ing we are family. Knowing we had been with our brothers and sisters. We were one! May we take this oneness back to our churches, our communities. America is not in trouble. America is on the verge of the biggest revival we have ever seen if the church can just spread the light.

VineSong leading - "I Then Shall Live"

So greatly pardoned I'll forgive my brother
I've been so loved tha I'll risk loving too
I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges
Your pow'r and glory let them shine through me
And may your living kingdom come in me.

Vinesong director, John Watson exhultation

His direction was to get into circles of prayer with hands on each other's shoulders. The prayer focus message was the song above.

Led by Pastor Dervin Brown

NDP Photo 440
Pastor Dervin Brown

Work according to the heart of God and align our hearts to His by putting our roots down deep into the "now" movement of God. He is bringing forth David's and Joshua's as warriors in collaboration with the Moses diplomats. CRNDP is making a visible platform for the Now Generations to exercise and demonstrate both giftings and leadership.

Arising Now Generation Declarations to their generation

  • "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

  • "Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 (NASB)

  • "So don't be embarrassed to speak up for our Master (Jesus Christ). Take our share of suffering for the Message. Keep on going by the power of God, death defeated, life vindicated, all through the work of Jesus." 2 Timothy 1:8-10 (MSG)

  • "Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; and do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; but you will forget the shame of your youth." Isaiah 54:4 (NASB)

So I'll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered

Moving Together

Building bridges is the hallmark of CRNDP. We go forward from this assembly seeking to see God's manifest presence impact entire region of DC, Maryland and Virginia. DC flows outward into Maryland and Virginia, creating the Capital Region. Suburds cannot stand separated for the city. The nation and world needs the blessing of the "Cluster Anointing" (DC/MD/VA) solidarity. Destroy it not for there lies the blessing. (Isaiah 65:8)

Joining Together

  • CRNDP gathering brought encourgement

  • CRNDP gathering brought hope by the participation and love in the demonstration of unity.

  • CRNDP gathering brought joy to colleagues, being like-minded, having the same love and being one in spirit. (Philippians 2:2)

Forward Together

Moving forward together, lenghtening our cords and strengthening our stakes. (Isaiah 54:2) Amen.

Many churches, ministries, leaders and believers came to the CRNDP as representatives of the capital region. Below is a sampling of pictures of attendees from each area.

Fulfilling God's calling as the salt of the earth, (Matt 5:13-16) our lives give light to overcome darkness. Reflections from Gail Taliaferro

Our Jewish brethren were there praying with us with shofars piercing the heavens with a clarion call.

We were confirmed by His Spirit as being family, knowing we had been with our brothers and sisters. We were one! May we take this oneness back to our churches and to our communities. We left rejoicing in the unity we had experienced as we sang Hava Nagila and danced before the Lord.

Reflection by Michael Worsley

The 32nd Capitol Region National Day of Prayer was a wonder to behold.

Thank You

Thank You to All

This was a manifestation of a unified team flowing together which contributed to the success of the CRNDP 2016! I want to personally thank each of you for your faithful prayers, participation and unified service un to the Lord.

I am still in celebration of what the Lord has done for us and through us! Please plan ahead and Save the Date for next year's CRNDP, May 4, 2017 and invite others. God is pleased as we experienced great breakthrough and accomplished what He planned for us on that day.

Behold God is doing a “New Thing” as we are transitioned into another season of God. There is urgency in Christ for the Body to unify around these areas; which were manifested with such power and glory at CRNDP 2016:

  • Strengthening our youth leaders by partnering with them in giving them a platform of expression outside the walls of the church. As Lon says, “time to be visible.” (Rev. 5:9)

  • Placing a greater emphasis on the next vanguard of righteous leaders; strengthening and energizing. From generation to generation (Daniel 4:3b AMP);together (2 Chronicles 20:13 AMP).

  • An Intergenerational Voices of Unity choir, Pastor Diane Robinson, Director, led the Assembly in an extravagant outpouring of worship unto our Lord.

To God be the glory,

U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon

Pastors Michael and Terry Hall, Coordinators

Established in 1990 by Dr. John Hash and Dr. Corinthia Boone, the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon brings hundreds of believers to the West front of the Capitol to read aloud the entire Word of God without commentary over ninety continuous hours. The public reading of God’s Holy Word calls the nation to return to God’s precepts and lays a solid foundation for the National Day of Prayer.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 KJV

The U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon exists . . .

  • To honor God’s Holy Word.
  • To celebrate our First Amendment freedoms: speech, assembly, religion.
  • To set aside our differences and unify the diverse body of Christ around the Holy Bible.

This year, May 1-5 2016, there were 90 continuous hours of Bible reading, from Genesis to Revelation, without commentary at the U.S. Capitol.

National Prayer

click to go to the National Day of Prayer
The following National Prayer by Dr. Tony Evans was offered
at noon at the U.S. Capitol in collaboration with others across the nation:

Dear heavenly Father, we come to You today as a humble people desperate for Your supernatural intervention on behalf of our beloved nation. First, we thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed on our land, blessings that have allowed us to bring so much good and benefit to not only our own citizens but also to the rest of the world. The very ideals upon which this country was founded were based on biblical truths, no matter how some try to rewrite history to deny that very fact today.

This is why our hearts are so broken over how You continue to be marginalized and dismissed by both our people and our institutions. We are also saddened by the fact that Your people have contributed greatly to the spiritual apathy that now engulfs us. Our satisfaction in remaining religious without being fully committed to living out the truths of Your Word has caused us to become co-conspirators with the forces of evil that are destroying us as a society.

It is for this reason that we personally and collectively repent of our carnality and recommit ourselves to becoming visible and verbal disciples of Jesus Christ. Enable us, by Your Spirit, to no longer be secret agent Christians but rather to publicly declare and live out Your truth in a spirit of love so that You feel welcome in our country once again.

Thank You for Your promise to hear our prayers when we call to You with hearts of repentance and obedience, which is how we are appealing to You today, Father. On behalf of Your church, we affirm afresh the priority You are to us that You would fill every dimension of our lives as we seek to bring You glory through the advancement of Your kingdom in our personal lives, our family lives, and in the lives of our churches and our government leaders. We confidently invite heaven's intervention into all the affairs of our nation and we praise You in advance for Your answer.

In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
